TEACHING

Teaching Focus

My teaching focuses on encouraging creativity, confidence, performance quality, expression, and technique within a supportive and engaging environment. I aim to create classes where dancers feel comfortable to explore movement, develop their individuality, and grow both technically and creatively.

Class Structure

I structure my classes through a combination of warm ups, improvisation tasks, technique exercises, choreography, and dance routines. This allows dancers to develop technical skills while also encouraging creativity, performance, and confidence through movement.

Working with Different Ages & Abilities

I have experience working with a range of ages and abilities, from young dancers to college level students. I adapt my teaching approach, pace, and class content depending on the needs and abilities of the dancers to support their individual growth and development.

Teaching Environment

I create a supportive, energetic, and encouraging environment where all dancers feel included and able to benefit from the class or workshop. I believe positive and inclusive spaces are important in helping dancers build confidence and enjoy dance.

Teaching Skills & Methods

My teaching skills include leadership, organisation, communication, adaptability, patience, teamwork, and class management. I use a range of teaching methods, including demonstration, guided improvisation, positive reinforcement, kinesthetic learning, and descriptive verbal imagery, to support different learning styles and encourage engagement within classes.
