EMOTIONS IN MOVEMENT
Emotions in Movement is a research-informed creative dance project, originally developed during my university studies. Inspired by my passion for using dance as a tool for creativity, confidence, and self-expression, the project explores movement, emotional expression, and wellbeing through choreography, improvisation, and workshop facilitation. Informed by research and practical teaching experience, it encourages dancers to build confidence, express themselves creatively, and connect with movement in meaningful ways.
Project Experience & Skills
Through Emotions in Movement, I designed and delivered creative dance workshops, developed lesson plans and teaching resources, created choreography, and explored movement, improvisation, and reflective practice. The project strengthened my skills in workshop facilitation, choreography, dance teaching, research-informed practice, lesson planning, leadership, communication, and creative development.
How It Has Shaped My Practice
Although Emotions in Movement was originally developed during my university studies, it has helped shape the values that underpin my teaching today. The project reinforced the importance of creating supportive and inclusive environments where dancers feel encouraged to explore movement, develop confidence, and express themselves creatively. These principles continue to influence my approach to teaching and choreography.
